What Is Micron?

Micron selected Clay, New York, just outside Syracuse, for what is planned to become the largest semiconductor manufacturing facility in the United States.

The Micron project has moved well beyond the planning stage.
Micron officially broke ground in January 2026. In June, the company selected Bechtel as its construction partner for the first phase of the project, and in July, Micron announced that the first concrete had been poured ahead of the original schedule, marking the transition from site preparation to vertical construction.
The project is located at White Pine Commerce Park in the Town of Clay in Onondaga County.
